The Smelters get a good look at H.H. Petrossian

The Fighting Ostriches

H.H. Petrossian had 74 yards against the Smelters, who used to employ him. He runs hot, and everybody has decided to live with it, so nobody expects him to say much about it. The fixture comes round again next year.

Across nine seasons: 8,156 yards from scrimmage, sixty-six touchdowns, 144 games. There was a 1,249-yard year in there. This is not it. Four clubs have had him.

Auckland, New Zealand is where he is from. He is thirty-two. He was a first-round pick out of Windham, and everybody saw it coming.

The club is 4-1. Rico Norwood is in year two of it. The contract runs out in the spring.

One more thing: he does the crossword in the locker room before he dresses.

This feature ran in the paper in week 5 of 1985. The rest of the season is there too.
