Kareem Lockett returns diminished

P.J. Thorne, injury desk

Kareem Lockett RB
Prospectors

Kareem Lockett is back from the knee but has lost a step, and his durability grade has fallen to Normal. He lost 12.1 points of ability and will not get them back.

Across nine seasons: 13,529 yards from scrimmage, ninety-one touchdowns, 139 games. His best was 2,095. This is not that, yet. He has done it in four buildings.

Apia, Samoa is where he is from. He is thirty-three. Around the building he is the one the young players actually ask. He was drafted late, on the strength of one game nobody else watched.

The club is 9-8. Solomon Fields is in year eight of it. He is out of contract after this.

He eats the same breakfast every game day and will not discuss it, and always has.

This feature ran in the paper in week 18 of 1985. The rest of the season is there too.
