Julius Neely has 185 and a story

Wendell Sowerbutts, notebook

Julius Neely RB
Muskox

Julius Neely: 185 yards. He was signed off a practice squad in November and never gave the job back, which the record will now have to accommodate. Out of Cutler Bible, which sends one of these to the league about once a decade. It counts the same as anybody else's.

The ledger, after four seasons: 4,826 yards, thirty-five scores. He has never had a year like it.

He is twenty-five, out of Oakland, California. He says almost nothing and is listened to anyway.

Muskox are 6-4 through eleven weeks. Tevin Danforth is new. He is out of contract after this.

He collects vinyl and is insufferable about it, and always has.

This feature ran in the paper in week 11 of 1984. The rest of the season is there too.
