Prospectors without Emmett Fumblewick again

Gridiron Wire, league desk

Emmett Fumblewick WR
Prospectors

Prospectors WR Emmett Fumblewick will miss the rest of the season with an ACL. The backup inherits the job for now.

He has 1,000 yards from scrimmage in two seasons, and eleven touchdowns. This is the best of them.

Cleveland, Ohio is where he is from. He is twenty-two. Ask anybody: he would rather be almost anywhere else on a Tuesday. He was found at a regional combine by a scout whose flight had been cancelled. In another life he played the trombone well enough to be offered a scholarship for it.

Prospectors, 5-4, and ten weeks gone. Solomon Fields is in year seven of it.

Fumblewick will not step on the painted logo at midfield.

This feature ran in the paper in week 10 of 1984. The rest of the season is there too.
