177 yards, and a road nobody would recommend

Dez Cruikshank, team beat

Tucker Ulmer QB
Prospectors

Tucker Ulmer was found at a regional combine by a scout whose flight had been cancelled, and this club found him. 177 yards. Remember who was looking. He has worn the same undershirt since his rookie year and had it repaired twice, which his teammates have stopped remarking on. It counts the same as anybody else's.

4,403 yards over seven seasons. Sixty-two touchdowns. Ninety-six games. None of the others were this good. For two clubs.

Thirty-one, and Bellwether, Ohio before that. Around the building he is the first man in the building most mornings.

Prospectors are 3-0 through three weeks. Solomon Fields is in year six of it. He is out of contract after this.

This feature ran in the paper in week 3 of 1983. The rest of the season is there too.
