Oscar Pollard returns the favour

Gus Pemberton, sources say

Oscar Pollard RB
The Custodians

The Firebrands let Oscar Pollard go and had reasons, none of which they will repeat this week. He had 59 yards against them. He is 33 now, which was most of the argument at the time. He knew. They knew. Everybody knew.

2,996 yards over five seasons. Thirty-four touchdowns. Sixty-nine games. His best was 835. This is not that, yet. He has done it in three buildings.

He is from Cork, Ireland. Around the building he runs hot, and everybody has decided to live with it. The route here: a track man who was talked into it by a coach who never let go. In another life he drove a snowplow for the county.

The club is 4-3. Nolan Fenwick is in year two of it. The contract runs out in the spring.

He eats the same breakfast every game day and will not discuss it, and always has.
