127 against the club that let him go

Wendell Sowerbutts, notebook

Andre Kearse QB
Marauders

Andre Kearse, formerly of the Snowplows: 127 yards. He was asked about it and said it was just another game. He is 28 now, which was most of the argument at the time. The fixture comes round again next year.

He has 11,134 yards from scrimmage in six seasons, and 152 touchdowns. He got to 2,572 once. Not this time. Two of those shirts belong to somebody else now.

He is from Ashfork, Arizona. Ask anybody: he says almost nothing and is listened to anyway. He was a track man who was talked into it by a coach who never let go. In another life he played the trombone well enough to be offered a scholarship for it.

Marauders are 6-2 through nine weeks. Bryce Beale is in year eleven of it.

Kearse calls his grandmother before every game and after every loss.
