Shawn Fontaine finds it, in year 8

Dez Cruikshank, team beat

Shawn Fontaine RB
Timberjacks

Shawn Fontaine was drafted late, on the strength of one game nobody else watched, and this club found him. 135 yards. Remember who was looking. He reads on the team plane, actual books, which his teammates find hilarious, which his teammates have stopped remarking on. It counts the same as anybody else's.

The ledger, after five seasons: 4,542 yards, thirty-two scores. There was a 1,302-yard year in there. This is not it. He has done it in two buildings.

He turned twenty-eight this year. He is from Doverville, Georgia. Ask anybody: he runs hot, and everybody has decided to live with it. In another life he fixed diesel engines with his uncle.

The club is 7-6. Kellen Norwood is in year seven of it. There is one year left on the deal.
