T.X. Lattimore was not supposed to be here

Wendell Sowerbutts, notebook

T.X. Lattimore QB
Prospectors

T.X. Lattimore: 148 yards. He was the son of a man who played eleven years at the same position, which the record will now have to accommodate. He eats the same breakfast every game day and will not discuss it, which his teammates have stopped remarking on. It counts the same as anybody else's.

Across seventeen seasons: 22,687 yards from scrimmage, 360 touchdowns, 253 games. There was a 2,448-yard year in there. This is not it. For five clubs.

He turned thirty-nine this year. He is from Sable, North Dakota. He runs hot, and everybody has decided to live with it.

The club is 7-2. Hoot Jessup is in year nine of it. He is out of contract after this.

This feature ran in the paper in week 10 of 2021. The rest of the season is there too.
