Curtis Crenshaw returns the favour

Marlene Ostrowski, column

Curtis Crenshaw QB
Turbines

Curtis Crenshaw had 133 yards against the Prospectors, who used to employ him. He runs hot, and everybody has decided to live with it, so nobody expects him to say much about it. Both clubs will insist there is nothing in it. There is always something in it.

He has 15,463 yards from scrimmage in fifteen seasons, and 235 touchdowns. There was a 2,370-yard year in there. This is not it. He has done it in four buildings.

Thirty-five, and Chicago, Illinois before that. Nobody planned any of it. He was found at a regional combine by a scout whose flight had been cancelled.

Turbines are 4-5 through ten weeks. Duke Gravelle is in year twenty-three of it. The contract runs out in the spring.

Crenshaw never takes his helmet off between series.
