184 yards from a man who was rugby until he was nineteen, and he tackles like it. The scouting industry declines to comment. He has a rule about not reading anything written about him, which he breaks, which his teammates have stopped remarking on. It counts the same as anybody else's.

Across five seasons: 4,125 yards from scrimmage, seventy-three touchdowns, seventy-seven games. His best was 1,700. This is not that, yet. For two clubs.

Thirty, and Ojo Caliente, New Mexico before that. He is the one the young players actually ask.

Prospectors are 9-5 through fifteen weeks. Hoot Jessup is in year six of it.
