85 against the club that let him go

Dez Cruikshank, team beat

Keegan Kowalczyk QB
Timberjacks

Keegan Kowalczyk had 85 yards against the Roughnecks, who used to employ him. He would rather be almost anywhere else on a Tuesday, so nobody expects him to say much about it. The fixture comes round again next year.

Across thirteen seasons: 25,237 yards from scrimmage, 411 touchdowns, 234 games. His best was 2,607. This is not that, yet. He has done it in two buildings.

Thirty-four, and Auckland, New Zealand before that. The route here: a track man who was talked into it by a coach who never let go. In another life he kept bees.

Timberjacks are 8-3 through twelve weeks. Kellen Norwood is in year four of it. The contract runs out in the spring.

Kowalczyk is the last man off the field, every week, without exception.
