Slippery Boxwell finds it, in year 3

Hal Vandergrift, veteran beat

Slippery Boxwell QB
Turbines

Slippery Boxwell was a basketball player until he was twenty, and it still shows. Every one of those is a scout who kept his job anyway. Two of them found the end zone, in game 3 of his season. The ones who arrive like this tend to know what it cost. That is usually worth something in December.

The ledger, after five seasons: 8,499 yards, 114 scores. This is the best of them. For two clubs.

He turned twenty-eight this year. He is from Newark, New Jersey. Ask anybody: he runs hot, and everybody has decided to live with it.

Turbines are 4-1 through five weeks. Duke Gravelle is in year seventeen of it.

Boxwell keeps his father's work gloves in his locker.
