Donte Vermicelli returns the favour

Donte Vermicelli had 120 yards against the Prospectors, who used to employ him. He is 34 now, which was most of the argument at the time. The fixture comes round again next year.

The ledger, after eight seasons: 2,609 yards, twenty-five scores. He has never had a year like it. For four clubs.

He is from Chicago, Illinois. He says almost nothing and is listened to anyway. Nobody planned any of it. He was a mid-round pick who was the fourth-best player on his own college team.

Marauders, 8-7, and sixteen weeks gone. Bryce Beale is new. The contract runs out in the spring.

One more thing: he has a rule about not reading anything written about him, which he breaks.

This feature ran in the paper in week 16 of 2014. The rest of the season is there too.
