Lorenzo Lockett lost for the year to a meniscus

Marlene Ostrowski, column

Lorenzo Lockett WR
Boarhounds

Lorenzo Lockett is hurt again, and this time it is a meniscus and the whole season. It is the second meniscus of his career.

The ledger, after eight seasons: 10,714 yards, sixty scores. There was a 2,091-yard year in there. This is not it.

New Antwerp, Wisconsin is where he is from. He is thirty-one. Ask anybody: he keeps his own counsel and his own hours. Nobody planned any of it. He was drafted on a medical gamble that three clubs would not take.

Boarhounds, 9-7, and seventeen weeks gone. Oscar Kearse is in year thirty-three of it. There is one year left on the deal.

Lockett refuses to be taped by anybody but the same assistant trainer.

This feature ran in the paper in week 17 of 2013. The rest of the season is there too.
