Grackles lose Javon Quickley to a collarbone

P.J. Thorne, injury desk

Javon Quickley WR
Grackles

The collarbone is the worst of its kind Javon Quickley has had, and the timeline is the rest of the season. The backup inherits the job for now.

He has 2,731 yards from scrimmage in four seasons, and thirteen touchdowns. His best was 886. This is not that, yet.

Cattaraugus Falls, New York is where he is from. He is twenty-five. He says almost nothing and is listened to anyway. The route here: a late bloomer who did not start a game until he was a college senior.

The club is 6-9. Wendell Ankleton is in year two of it. He is out of contract after this.

One more thing: he has a rule about not reading anything written about him, which he breaks.

This feature ran in the paper in week 16 of 2012. The rest of the season is there too.
