Silas Beale done for the year

Marlene Ostrowski, column

Silas Beale RB
Turbines

Silas Beale is hurt again, and this time it is a meniscus and the whole season. The backup inherits the job for now. Draft accordingly.

Across two seasons: 2,282 yards from scrimmage, twenty-one touchdowns, twenty-eight games. He has never had a year like it.

Twenty-four, and Newark, New Jersey before that. Ask anybody: he says almost nothing and is listened to anyway. Nobody planned any of it. He was a basketball player until he was twenty, and it still shows.

Turbines are 5-3 through nine weeks. Duke Gravelle is in year fourteen of it.

Keeps his father's work gloves in his locker.
