111 against the club that let him go

Marlene Ostrowski, column

Lorenzo Ellington Jr. QB
Marauders

Lorenzo Ellington Jr. put 111 on the Prospectors, who decided at some point that they could do without him. Everybody is very calm about it. He is the one the young players actually ask, so nobody expects him to say much about it. The fixture comes round again next year.

Across nine seasons: 14,315 yards from scrimmage, 213 touchdowns, 143 games. He got to 2,156 once. Not this time. He has done it in three buildings.

Thirty, and Kestrel, Montana before that. The route here: rugby until he was nineteen, and he tackles like it.

Marauders are 10-5 through sixteen weeks. Donte Boyce is in year nine of it.

Ellington Jr. does the crossword in the locker room before he dresses.
