Brandon Steele was not supposed to be here

Brandon Steele WR
Smelters

Brandon Steele: 198 yards. He was a track man who was talked into it by a coach who never let go, which the record will now have to accommodate. He answers every question in exactly one sentence, which his teammates have stopped remarking on. It counts the same as anybody else's.

He has 4,351 yards from scrimmage in five seasons, and twenty-six touchdowns. He got to 1,456 once. Not this time. Two of those shirts belong to somebody else now.

Twenty-six, and Belfast, Northern Ireland before that. He is the one the young players actually ask.

The club is 5-9. Keegan Callender is in year five of it.
