The long way round: Squirrel Fenwick goes for 184

Hal Vandergrift, veteran beat

Squirrel Fenwick RB
Wolfhounds

Squirrel Fenwick had 184 yards. He was found at a regional combine by a scout whose flight had been cancelled. Out of Coldwater Community, which sends one of these to the league about once a decade. It counts the same as anybody else's.

Across three seasons: 3,972 yards from scrimmage, twenty-nine touchdowns, fifty-two games. He has never had a year like it.

He is twenty-two, out of Ashfork, Arizona. Ask anybody: he talks constantly and means about half of it. Before any of it he competed in strongman events regionally.

Wolfhounds are 8-1 through ten weeks. Ibrahim Calloway is in year nine of it.

Has never once been photographed smiling on a sideline.
