The Fighting Ostriches
Hoyt Whistleman had 135 yards. He was a walk-on at Hollisburg who did not have a scholarship until his third year. Two of them found the end zone, in game 2 of his season. It counts the same as anybody else's.
4,648 yards over three seasons. Eighty touchdowns. Forty-five games. He got to 2,918 once. Not this time. Two of those shirts belong to somebody else now.
Thirty, and Phoenix, Arizona before that. Around the building he keeps his own counsel and his own hours. In another life he kept bees.
The club is 3-3. Percy Trubisky is in year two of it. He is out of contract after this.
One more thing: he calls his grandmother before every game and after every loss.
