Hollis Curdle lost for the year to a knee

Anvils

Hollis Curdle will miss the rest of the season with a knee. It is the second knee of his career.

1,561 yards over three seasons. Twenty-one touchdowns. Thirty-one games. His best was 1,013. This is not that, yet. He has done it in two buildings.

He is thirty-one, out of Pinch, West Virginia. He is the first man in the building most mornings. He was a first-round pick out of Halloway State, and everybody saw it coming. In another life he competed in strongman events regionally.

The club is 7-4. Lamar Norwood is new. There is one year left on the deal.

He refuses to be taped by anybody but the same assistant trainer, and always has.

This feature ran in the paper in week 12 of 1979. The rest of the season is there too.
