Xavier Vance beats the Copperheads to it

Wendell Sowerbutts, notebook

Xavier Vance QB
Wolfhounds

Xavier Vance had 148 yards against the Copperheads, who used to employ him. He is 36 now, which was most of the argument at the time. The fixture comes round again next year.

The ledger, after fifteen seasons: 23,489 yards, 350 scores. He got to 2,607 once. Not this time. He has done it in six buildings.

He is from Memphis, Tennessee. Ask anybody: he is the one the young players actually ask. He was the second man taken at his position out of Governors College.

The club is 4-2. Ibrahim Calloway is in year eight of it. There is one year left on the deal.

He keeps his father's work gloves in his locker, and always has.
