143 yards, and a road nobody would recommend

Hal Vandergrift, veteran beat

Ferris Inchcape QB
The Porterhouse

I have been doing this long enough to have written off men like F. Inchcape, who was drafted on a medical gamble that three clubs would not take. 143 yards is the league's way of saying nothing is settled. He is 29, and he talks constantly and means about half of it. The ones who arrive like this tend to know what it cost. That is usually worth something in December.
