Rhett Fields done for the year

Wendell Sowerbutts, notebook

Rhett Fields QB
Boarhounds

Rhett Fields: knee, the rest of the season. That is his season.

He has 10,770 yards from scrimmage in twelve seasons, and 158 touchdowns. There was a 2,360-yard year in there. This is not it. Two of those shirts belong to somebody else now.

He turned thirty-three this year. He is from Coalport, Alabama. Ask anybody: he is the first man in the building most mornings. The route here: the highest-rated recruit his state had produced in a decade.

Boarhounds, 1-1, and two weeks gone. Oscar Kearse is in year twenty-five of it. The contract runs out in the spring.
