There is a version of Lorenzo Ellington Jr.'s life where none of this happens. He was rugby until he was nineteen, and he tackles like it. Instead: 139 yards. Out of no college at all, which sends one of these to the league about once a decade. It is a long way from Kestrel, Montana, and he did not come the easy way.
The ledger, after five seasons: 7,589 yards, ninety-eight scores. He got to 2,156 once. Not this time. For two clubs.
Twenty-six years old. He is the one the young players actually ask.
Prospectors are 8-7 through sixteen weeks. Meatball Speight is new.
