P. Northcutt to Damon Trubisky, again

Dez Cruikshank, team beat

Damon Trubisky WR
Nightshift

P. Northcutt threw 2 touchdowns to Damon Trubisky, who has now caught 25 from him. They have played 7 games together this season alone. It is the simplest thing this offence does and the hardest to stop.

8,228 yards over eleven seasons. Thirty-seven touchdowns. 172 games. He got to 1,307 once. Not this time. He has done it in two buildings.

He turned thirty-three this year. He is from Bitter Lake, Idaho. Ask anybody: he is the one the young players actually ask. The route here: a mid-round pick who was the fourth-best player on his own college team. He played the trombone well enough to be offered a scholarship for it, once.

The club is 2-4-1. Meatball Speight is in year four of it. The contract runs out in the spring.

One more thing: he refuses to be taped by anybody but the same assistant trainer.

This feature ran in the paper in week 8 of 2004. The rest of the season is there too.
