Sentinels lose Gus Thibodeaux to a collarbone

Sentinels

Gus Thibodeaux sustained a collarbone and is expected to miss the rest of the season. It is the second collarbone of his career.

Across six seasons: 6,240 yards from scrimmage, forty touchdowns, eighty-three games. His best was 1,813. This is not that, yet. For three clubs.

Houston, Texas is where he is from. He is twenty-seven. Around the building he is the first man in the building most mornings. Nobody planned any of it. He was converted from linebacker in his second professional season.

Sentinels, 6-0, and six weeks gone. Hutch Ellington is in year four of it.

One more thing: he refuses to be taped by anybody but the same assistant trainer.

This feature ran in the paper in week 6 of 2004. The rest of the season is there too.
