Jamarcus Knucklebone lost for the year to a broken forearm

Ruth Fairbanks, features

Jamarcus Knucklebone RB
The Fighting Ostriches

Jamarcus Knucklebone walked off under his own power and did not come back. It is a broken forearm, and it is the rest of the season. That is his season.

4,929 yards over five seasons. Thirty-one touchdowns. Fifty-five games. He got to 1,542 once. Not this time. Two of those shirts belong to somebody else now.

Twenty-eight, and Muddy Creek, Kentucky before that. He keeps his own counsel and his own hours. He was found at a regional combine by a scout whose flight had been cancelled.

The Fighting Ostriches are 1-3 through four weeks. Rico Norwood is in year twenty of it. He is out of contract after this.

Knucklebone keeps his father's work gloves in his locker.

This feature ran in the paper in week 4 of 2003. The rest of the season is there too.
