Across nine seasons: 6,418 yards from scrimmage, forty-eight touchdowns, 146 games. He got to 1,105 once. Not this time. He has done it in two buildings.
He is twenty-nine, out of Pinch, West Virginia. Around the building he is the first man in the building most mornings. He was the second man taken at his position out of Caldwell A&M. He worked the overnight shift at a grain elevator, once.
The Custodians, 7-8, and sixteen weeks gone. Grant Bombardo is in year seven of it. The contract runs out in the spring.
One more thing: he has never once been photographed smiling on a sideline.
