The long way round: Marquez Fumbleton goes for 170

Chip Nutbeam, hot take

Marquez Fumbleton QB
Vulcans

Marquez Fumbleton was the son of a man who played eleven years at the same position and just put up 170 YARDS. This is the best thing that has happened all season. He is 26, and he is unfailingly polite and completely unknowable. It counts the same as anybody else's.

7,658 yards over six seasons. 112 touchdowns. Eighty-seven games. His best was 2,086. This is not that, yet. Two of those shirts belong to somebody else now.

He is from Bellwether, Ohio.

The club is 1-1. Herb Garden is in year eleven of it.

Reads on the team plane, actual books, which his teammates find hilarious.
