J. Jugg has 163 and a story

Hal Vandergrift, veteran beat

Julius Jugg QB

I have been doing this long enough to have written off men like J. Jugg, who was converted from linebacker in his second professional season. 163 yards is the league's way of saying nothing is settled. He eats the same breakfast every game day and will not discuss it, which his teammates have stopped remarking on. The ones who arrive like this tend to know what it cost. That is usually worth something in December.

This story ran on the wire in week 4 of 2001. The rest of the season is in the paper.
