Nobody drafted this afternoon

Chip Nutbeam, hot take

Cyrus Thunderpaw QB
Anvils

Cyrus Thunderpaw was drafted on a medical gamble that three clubs would not take and just put up 173 YARDS. This is the best thing that has happened all season. Out of Windham, which sends one of these to the league about once a decade. It counts the same as anybody else's.

The ledger, after five seasons: 8,040 yards, 109 scores. He got to 1,994 once. Not this time. Two of those shirts belong to somebody else now.

Phoenix, Arizona is where he is from. He is twenty-six. Ask anybody: he is unfailingly polite and completely unknowable. In another life he spent two summers on a crab boat.

Anvils, 7-6, and fourteen weeks gone. Turk Prentice is new.

He reads on the team plane, actual books, which his teammates find hilarious, and always has.
