The rookie can play

Hal Vandergrift, veteran beat

Chuckie Zeller WR
Boarhounds

Chuckie Zeller had 68 yards and his first touchdown. It is the kind of afternoon that changes a depth chart.

697 yards over two seasons. Four touchdowns. Twenty-eight games. He has never had a year like it.

Twenty-two, and Bellwether, Ohio before that. Around the building he says almost nothing and is listened to anyway. The route here: found at a regional combine by a scout whose flight had been cancelled.

Boarhounds, 0-1, and one weeks gone. Nathaniel Nakamura is new. The contract runs out in the spring.

Refuses to be taped by anybody but the same assistant trainer.
