Quinton Lambswool has 159 and a story

Chip Nutbeam, hot take

Quinton Lambswool QB
Cannoneers

Quinton Lambswool was the son of a man who played eleven years at the same position and just put up 159 YARDS. This is the best thing that has happened all season. Two of them found the end zone, in game 1 of his season. It counts the same as anybody else's.

The ledger, after eight seasons: 10,336 yards, 139 scores. This is the best of them. Two of those shirts belong to somebody else now.

He is thirty-two, out of Salt Fork, Oklahoma. Around the building he is the one the young players actually ask. In another life he worked nights at a rendering plant to pay for a truck he never bought.

Cannoneers are 1-0 through one weeks. Hoot Jessup is in year seventeen of it. The contract runs out in the spring.

Has never once been photographed smiling on a sideline.
