Roman Passwater returns the favour

Wendell Sowerbutts, notebook

Roman Passwater QB
Cannoneers

Roman Passwater, formerly of the Quarrymen: 141 yards. He was asked about it and said it was just another game. He is 38 now, which was most of the argument at the time. The fixture comes round again next year.

He has 30,858 yards from scrimmage in fifteen seasons, and 455 touchdowns. There was a 2,822-yard year in there. This is not it. For five clubs.

He is from Gdansk, Poland. Around the building he is unfailingly polite and completely unknowable. He was the younger brother of a player nobody in this league remembers.

The club is 1-2. Hoot Jessup is in year fourteen of it. He is out of contract after this.

Calls his grandmother before every game and after every loss.
