Quinton Metcalf done for the year

Gridiron Wire, league desk

Quinton Metcalf WR
Roughnecks

Quinton Metcalf will miss the rest of the season with an ACL. The backup inherits the job for now.

Across eight seasons: 8,433 yards from scrimmage, thirty-seven touchdowns, 119 games. He has never had a year like it. He has done it in two buildings.

He is twenty-nine, out of Memphis, Tennessee. He is popular in a way that does not show up anywhere useful. Nobody planned any of it. He was drafted on a medical gamble that three clubs would not take. In another life he drove a snowplow for the county.

The club is 9-6. Isaiah Ulmer is in year two of it.

Metcalf does the crossword in the locker room before he dresses.
