Quinton Fields done for the year

Gridiron Wire, league desk

Quinton Fields WR
Marauders

Quinton Fields will miss the rest of the season with an Achilles. He reads Iron Man, which is what makes this one feel unlucky rather than inevitable.

He has 10,880 yards from scrimmage in nine seasons, and forty-eight touchdowns. His best was 2,662. This is not that, yet. For two clubs.

Sable, North Dakota is where he is from. He is thirty-one. He would rather be almost anywhere else on a Tuesday. The route here: rugby until he was nineteen, and he tackles like it.

Marauders are 4-4 through nine weeks. Dexter Rollins is in year three of it. There is one year left on the deal.

One more thing: he has worn the same undershirt since his rookie year and had it repaired twice.

This feature ran in the paper in week 9 of 1990. The rest of the season is there too.
