Brandon Langston was not supposed to be here

Chip Nutbeam, hot take

Brandon Langston RB
Sentinels

Brandon Langston had 149 yards. He was an academic transfer who arrived at Governors College to study engineering. He does the crossword in the locker room before he dresses, which his teammates have stopped remarking on. It counts the same as anybody else's.

2,799 yards over two seasons. Eighteen touchdowns. Thirty-eight games. He has never had a year like it. For two clubs.

He is twenty-five, out of Coalport, Alabama. Around the building he keeps his own counsel and his own hours. Before any of it he drove a snowplow for the county.

Sentinels are 4-3 through eight weeks. Duke Gravelle is in year three of it.
