Timberjacks lose Curtis Gravelle to an ankle

Gridiron Wire, league desk

Curtis Gravelle QB
Timberjacks

Curtis Gravelle will miss the rest of the season with an ankle. It is the second ankle of his career.

Across eight seasons: 2,216 yards from scrimmage, thirty-three touchdowns, sixty-six games. His best was 1,549. This is not that, yet. Two of those shirts belong to somebody else now.

He turned thirty-four this year. He is from Doverville, Georgia. Around the building he is unfailingly polite and completely unknowable. The route here: the second man taken at his position out of Belmont Tech.

Timberjacks, 2-0, and two weeks gone. Julius Pemberton is in year three of it. He is out of contract after this.

Gravelle calls his grandmother before every game and after every loss.

This feature ran in the paper in week 2 of 1988. The rest of the season is there too.
