24 touchdowns and counting

Hal Vandergrift, veteran beat

Brick Hardigan WR
Turbines

R.B. Speight Jr. has now thrown 24 touchdowns to Brick Hardigan. Partnerships like that used to be how you described a team, before everybody started describing schemes. They have played 7 games together this season alone. One of them will leave first. They always do.

The ledger, after eleven seasons: 17,665 yards, seventy-seven scores. His best was 2,582. This is not that, yet. He has done it in three buildings.

He turned thirty-two this year. He is from Sable, North Dakota. He is popular in a way that does not show up anywhere useful. Nobody planned any of it. He was the second man taken at his position out of Windham. In another life he kept bees.

Turbines, 3-4, and eight weeks gone. Nolan Fenwick is in year five of it. There is one year left on the deal.

Hardigan never takes his helmet off between series.
