Otis Petrossian lost for the year to a knee

Marlene Ostrowski, column

Otis Petrossian RB
The Porterhouse

Otis Petrossian will miss the rest of the season with a knee. He reads Durable, which is what makes this one feel unlucky rather than inevitable.

The ledger, after eight seasons: 9,149 yards, sixty-three scores. He got to 2,107 once. Not this time. For two clubs.

He turned twenty-nine this year. He is from Coalport, Alabama. He is unfailingly polite and completely unknowable. The route here: the son of a man who played eleven years at the same position.

The club is 1-5. Cormac Bombardo is in year nine of it. There is one year left on the deal.

One more thing: he will not step on the painted logo at midfield.

This feature ran in the paper in week 6 of 1986. The rest of the season is there too.
