Devon Cannonbury was not supposed to be here

Devon Cannonbury QB
Nightshift

I have been doing this long enough to have written off men like Devon Cannonbury, who was signed off a practice squad in November and never gave the job back. 224 yards is the league's way of saying nothing is settled. Two of them found the end zone, in game 11 of his season. The ones who arrive like this tend to know what it cost. That is usually worth something in December.

Across two seasons: 5,730 yards from scrimmage, eighty-six touchdowns, forty games. This is the best of them.

Ashfork, Arizona is where he is from. He is twenty-three. Ask anybody: he runs hot, and everybody has decided to live with it.

Nightshift are 8-3 through twelve weeks. Meatball Speight is new.

One more thing: he will not step on the painted logo at midfield.

This feature ran in the paper in week 12 of 1986. The rest of the season is there too.
